Niner Bikes: Bigger Is Better
Bicycles with 29-inch rims have been getting so much buzz in the recent years because of their superb riding characteristics. The large wheel diameter allows the bike to float over rocks and obstacles with greater ease, thus produces higher stability. Niner Bikes is a key player in this genre and has taken the technology to the next level by offering cutting-edge designs such as CVA™ Suspension and Bio-Centric Bottom Bracket. In addition, Niner makes available extensive range of frame geometries and materials such as Scandium and carbon to suit all riding styles. Once you try a Niner we're sure it'll put a constant grin on your face.

CVA™ Suspension
CVA™ (Constantly Varying Arc) is a patented suspension design unique to Niner and
is specifically designed for 29ers. CVA provides efficient padaling in all 3 chainrings
because of the location of the lower pivot (under the BB) chain torque effectively
isolates and cancels out the forces acting to create inefficiency in pedal stroke.
Bio-Centric Bottom Bracket
No more creaks, no more rounded EBB shells, no more debate about which system is best. Niner's new Bio-Centric bottom bracket system eliminates ALL of the issues with any eccentric bottom bracket system in an amazingly simple way: It's a two piece design.
One of the Bio-Centric's cups goes into the frame on the driveside of a normal 68mm EBB shell. The other goes into the frame on the non-drive side. There is an offset bolt that goes in from the non-drive side cup and threads into the drive side cup. The combination of this offset bolt, and the close tolerance of the Bio-Centric cup's internal fit means that the threads for the bottom bracket line up automatically. Rotate one cup around the EBB shell, and the other will rotate with it, keeping the threads for the bottom bracket aligned. Any minor mis-alignment of these threads will be corrected once the bottom bracket and cranks are installed.
29er Advantages
The basic concept of the larger diameter is simple: it will keep your wheels on top of oncoming obstacles. Rather than riding IN the terrain, you'll be riding ABOVE it, gaining more control and stability on even the roughest trails. Think of the difference between a skateboard wheel and monster truck tire. The skateboard wheel can come to a grinding halt on a pebble while the monster truck wheel can crush granny's Oldsmobile. Yes, this example is a little extreme, but you get the idea. The basic concept of the larger diameter is simple: it will keep your wheels on top of oncoming obstacles. Tapered Headtube
Steering precision starts with the front of the bike. Improved rigidity in this critical area translates to less wheel deflection and more control. A larger headtube gives us room to fit a massive hydroformed downtube that joins the bottom bracket to become the burly heart of the bike. By itself, the tapered headtube offers a noticeable advantage and the frame is still compatible with traditional 1-1/8" steerer tube fork with the purchase of a crown race adapter, but a tapered steerer fork serves up a significant increase in rough terrain tracking and stability.

Niner R.I.P. 9 Complete
For a trail bike to become legend, it has to do everything well. The R.I.P. 9 appeals to Ninerds who want one bike, riders who value versatility over specialization - keeping up with your XC friends and lining up at an Enduro. It's for riders who may have several bikes but rely on the "quiver killer" aspect of the R.I.P. 9 to give them confidence in new terrain. More info.

Niner S.I.R. 9 Single Speed
At a time when carbon super bikes (including our own flagship models) dominate the stage, why would Niner shine a spotlight on the SIR 9? Perhaps it's better to ask "just what is it about steel bikes?" Why, when we get on a steel frame, are we instantly transported back to that first bike we had as a kid? Why is steel just as relevant today as it was 50 years ago while other materials have come and gone? More info.
